Bericht door philippe »I've been offered today a plate from " la société céramique Maastricht Holland" stamped in the ceramic on the back: 3 1/2.
The face is an allegorical decor. A horserider at first plan with a semi rural/ semi urban landscape at the back, a canal passing through separating the two part. The horserider is playing trumpet apparently to the landscape. the trumpet is carrying an orphan with a lion brodery (the same as the one of the société céramique and probably the NDL crown. The horse victorious is walking on the Nazi's orfan laying down on the grass and getting in pieces.
On the tour of the plate: at the top is written HERRIJZEND NEDERLAND and down left: NAAR VREDE, in the middle the NDL KGD blason and down right written EN WELVAART. On the left side between the inscription is the NDL orfan and on the right USA & GB orfans together.
It's no doubt about the fact it speaks about victory! but I'd like more information about its value as I have it from an old englishman whom is a grandfather's friend.
Is that plate representing a special value or was it done to be dispatched all around in a mass production to suit any tasty livingroom?
