Breaking News:Museum in Melbourne fights with Van Gogh Museum
Bericht door philip silbernberg »Last year I published already my opinion of the bizar way the Van Gogh Museum is acting nowadays. Instead of finding new paintings of the great master Vincent van Gogh they act more and more destructive and negative. It is as if they want to point out to the wordl that their collection is the best and the only real one. As such the idea of linking the Vincent-appraisal mainly to the conservators of that Museum was a very unhealthy idea.I pointed out that they even throw out of the Catalog important authentic works, as my two painting, Gleaning Woman (The Hague August 1883)and Bust of a Sheperd (Nuenen , October 1884).
I was furious because i possess this Bust of a Shepherd, which is very similar with the Melbourne-portrait, but SIGNED WITH A PROUD AND BEAUTIFUL VINCENT-SIGNATURE. The influence of the 17th- century Dutch Master Frans Hals is in both paintings equally visible. Especially the way the curling hair is brushed is like the master Hals did in our Golden century!
I am please to see that the Victoria and Albert
Museum now declare the beautiful work as authentic and that they do not follow the bunch of idiots of the Van Gogh Museum!
I know also that Benoit Landais declares the work 100 % authentic and he explained me thoroughly why!
