The Répertoire des Catalogues de Ventes Publiques by Frits Lugt is one the most widely consulted art historical reference works. IDC Publishers is now releasing an online edition of the Répertoire at This online edition increases the value of the rare original as it provides a multitude of search options. Many recently discovered catalogs have been added and corrections to the original work have been made.

Because the volumes of the Répertoire had relatively small print runs, they are now highly sought after. In close cooperation with the Netherlands Institute for Art History RKD, IDC Publishers has created the online edition. The database can be consulted both in French and in English. An extra feature is the library database. This gives the opportunity to search through libraries with holdings of art sales catalogs.
