, can you tell me a little about Toon Koster, I know nothing about him/her
the painting is of a group of houses with a small river running through the middle there are some boats in the
river and the small houses are covered in snow, the painting is of a gloomy mood and a black sky
w/ a small portion of a sun ray lighting up the sky it is a very large painting about 24X36 inches

IT WAS GIVEN TO MY
AUNT SHE WAS A HOUSE KEEPER FOR MANY YEARS FOR A VERY WEALTHY FAMILY
AND THEY GAVE IT TO HER.
AND SHE PASSED IT ON TO ME

Toon Koster (Anthonius Henricus) was born in Schiedam, 19 Jan. 1913 and he died 25 Nov. 1989 in Woerden.
He lived and worked in Nieuwkoop near the Nieuwkoopse Plassen, a region with
small lakes ('plassen' in Dutch), a typical Dutch kind of landscape.
Many of his paintings show that landscape in dark colours with a dark grey/green sky above it and light of the sun/moon between the clouds reflected on the water.
