I have this painting in possession but I don't know very much about the painter. Does anyone here know his story? Who was he, and where did he live?
I guessed that he is dutch because of the spelling Hendrik with a d.

I think the signature says "Hendrik Mathey", but I can be a bit wrong. See for your selves!
